I am going to explain how to draw the layout of a car park and its location. This is one of the important application forms which you must complete before going through the procedure of a garage certificate. This is really troublesome if you think you are drawing by your hand. However, we’d be crazy not to take advantage of modern conveniences, which is “google map”.
Using a copy of google map on this application form is accepted publicly. Don’t hesitate to use google map and edit it as the form says. However, there are some things to be noted when you create this application form. I am going to explain step by step.

Take a screenshot of google map and Edit it for “shozaizu” (所在図)
Open the Google map and insert the address where the car park is located. The scope of the map is not clearly defined but at least, you have to include outstanding landmarks and your residence and your car park. You have to adjust zooming to contain these three places on the map
Landmarks, car park, and your living place should be filled in noticeable color and write the name of the place in Japanese largely enough to easily find from the map. If you write where you live, you write not only “自宅” (Jitaku), but also the name of the apartment next to it.
Then, you draw a line between your house and your using car park and write how far is it with the metric system.
If you can’t use photoshop, you can draw by hand. In that case, you just copy the map and you just draw whatever you need on the map with a colored pen.

Take a screenshot of google map and Edit it for “Haichizu” (配置図)
Haichizu (配置図) is a car park layout. You have to indicate where your car is parked in the car park with dimensions. Google map has a limitation that it doesn’t even show the layout of a car park even if you zoom in. In that case, you use a satellite photograph of the map that shows your car park area. As follows, you just show where your car is parked with noticeable marking.
What you must not forget to edit this map is that you also have to write the dimension of a parking space, entrance space and the road next to the car park.

Paste these two edited maps on the application form
When you paste it, just make sure if the map is not too small to find a car park, apartment, and landmarks. You just adjust the appropriate size before you copy the google map
Things to pay attention to
When you draw car storage location, “所在図” and “配置図”, you have to be conscious of drawing this for a person who will come to this place for the first time.
You should write the name of landmarks and direction mark on the map outstandingly, editing with photoshop or by hands.
The dimensions of parking space, entrance and rode in front of a car park become a rough standard for a police officer to inspect the places if the written values are correct. So you don’t need to measure it to have the accurate values but you show approximate values.
